San Diego Elopement Services

WHY ELOPE ?

There are so many reasons couples choose to elope!
Anything from the simple spontaneity of it, to saving money or avoiding family drama.  Couples who decide to elope often say they value the personal experiences over a big production and expense.  An elopement ceremony comes with less stress and anxiety, can offer more intimacy and intention on a wedding day.  For couples who are marrying for a second time or who have children, eloping just might make more sense to them.  Remember, this doesn't mean you can't also have your closest family and friends to help you celebrate your wedding day.  You can opt for a micro wedding or pop up wedding without all the expense and planning.

What services do you provide and who will be who actually perform my wedding ceremony?

I perform and officiate wedding ceremonies in the San Diego, California on beaches, in parks, at hotels and homes. I provide "on~location" amazing wedding celebrations. Know that I will personally perform your wedding ceremony~  some other companies in the area are a bit vague about who your actual wedding officiant  might be.  I happily officiate all of my own wedding ceremonies.  Since 1987, I've joined over 4000 happy couples in marriage

When you last minute weddings.... how last minute do you really mean?

Many of the couples who contact me for their weddings~ have reached out to me just a few days before their wedding.   You don't have to settle for a cookie cutter wedding at the courthouse.   San Diego has so many beautiful, free wedding spotsfor you to exchange your wedding vows.  If you can't get an appointment at the San Diego County offices right away for a marriage license, I do have some other suggestions to get a marriage license, one that even saves about half on the license fee, but it is a bit of drive.
Know that's it's totally possible to put together a beautiful, meaningful wedding ceremony in just a few days.

How much does it cost for me to have a small wedding or to Elope in San Diego?

For $400, you could have a beautiful ceremony on Coronado Beach, Sunset Cliffs or Balboa Park with up to 20 guests. These are locations that are open to the public and FREE to use if you don't have beach decor or seating. City permits and insurance are required if you decide to have seating and decor.    See below for links.

My wedding officiant fees is bit more in North County and a bit less for my weekday special  $275  I can help you with ideas for location and ceremony content, and perform your wedding ceremony and file the marriage license with the appropriate county afterwards. The fee for a marriage license may vary across the state of California, a regular marriage license purchased from San Diego County now cost about $130.

Can you tell me more about location options and PERMITS?

Do I have to purchase my marriage license in San Diego County?

Absolutely not, a marriage license can be purchased from ANY California County Clerk's Office and used in San Diego. However, at the San Diego Clerks office, you MUST have an appointment.  Other counties have different requirements. For example a marriage license in San Diego cost about $130, in Orange County a marriage license is only about $70 and doesn't require an appointment.  Be sure to check for details for the clerks office you decide to obtain your marriage license from.

What if I don't have any witnesses to sign my marriage license at the ceremony?

In California, you can purchase a "confidential license" from the county clerks office, they are a little bit more expensive, depending upon the county, but you won't need a witness to sign your marriage license.  Over the years,
we've also found that many vacationing beachcombers are thrilled to witness a wedding and will happily sign for you. They always say how this made their trip something really special.  So it's up to you!
